Plot[]

SPOILERS AHEAD

Rebeka awakens to find her house being investigated as swarms of police take numerous pictures and ignore her; unbeknownst to her, Samuel's cooperation with the police has gotten Sandra put in prison.

At school, Lu looks around the hallways and comments on how backwards everything has become. Lu decides not to throw a conventional Valentine’s party but her actual plans remain a secret for now.

Rebeka asks for cash from her friends in order to visit her mother in prison. Once there, she berates her mother for what’s happened and asks just what she’s supposed to do now on her own. Her mother sneers, telling her she should hit the punching bag instead. Given what’s going on in her life, Rebeka heads to Samuel’s and manages to crash at his for the time being. Samuel attempts to hide his guilt since he knows that he is the reason why Rebeka now has no money. Valerio continues to get closer to Polo and Cayetana, possibly with a plan up his sleeve.

Malick invites Nadia and her parents to a Valentine's dinner at a 5-star restaurant. They gratefully accept, but Malick naively suggests Omar be invited too. Nadia's mother laments to Malick that Omar would never accept the invitation.

Lu decides to plan a "BYOB" Reverse Valentine's party, where attire is swapped between genders, and this gets the entire school talking. On the back of this, Nadia is told to redo her exam and as Guzmán approaches her, it turns out her grades have been slipping because she’s had to work at the store so much and hasn’t had any time to study.

In the shop, Guzmán confronts Nadia’s father about the situation and convinces him to let her off the hook, offering to take up the workload himself. Nadia tells him she’ll never forgive him for what he’s done, believing he’s doing all this just because he’s worried about his pride. Guzmán actually attempts to work at the shop for a day, but gives up quickly.

Samuel is clearly feeling guilty that he is secretly responsible for Rebeka's mother being in prison, and Rebeka being left without a cent to her name. He is on the verge of telling her, but Rebeka comes up with a plan to break into her house (currently under police investigation) and steal the money hiding in her mother's emergency "piggy bank".

Valentine's Day arrives and Lu finds herself alone, trying to gear the students up for her party. Rebeka is taken outside class not long after and told that she will likely have to drop out of Las Encinas given the seriousness of her mother’s situation. Rebeka is enraged, shouting at Azucena about how unjust the system is, especially given the issues with Polo and letting him back in the school. All of her classmates rally to her side, led by Samuel, leading Azucena to back down and promise to speak to the board.

After sneaking into Rebeka's old house, she and Samuel find no money in the "piggy bank", leaving Rebeka devastated. However, given Rebeka’s mother told her to “hit the punching bag” earlier, Rebeka and Samuel realize this was code; Sandra left her cocaine stash hidden in the punching bag. As they manage to break it all free, Valerio joins them and offers to go 50/50 in selling the lucrative stash of drugs they have in front of them. Samuel however, suggests they flush it. Rebeka makes the final call though, deliberating over what to do.

Nadia’s father starts to see sense and decides to put his daughter’s education first, closing the store early. She throws her arms around him before heading out for their scheduled family Valentine's dinner. Omar arrives too, and his parents are initially very happy to see him for the first time in nearly a year. However, as his parents ask about his school life, Omar dances around the truth. He eventually tells them about Ander’s leukemia but his father coldly mentions how it’s not his responsibility. Omar bites back though, going on to tell him Ander is his family – and his boyfriend. Unfortunately his father refuses to listen to him, leading Omar to leave the dinner.

The Reverse Valentine’s party begins at Lu's house and she is in her element, greeting and hosting the event. Valerio tries to get under her skin, mentioning how cheap the event is. Nadia and Carla both arrive with their dates; all four of them are dressed in normal attire contrary to the party theme.

Malick and Omar are both in line for the toilets at the party. Malick tries to tell Omar that he understands his dilemma with his father. As Omar appears confused, the two suddenly begin passionately kissing, and are spotted by Lu from afar. Ander makes an unscheduled appearance at the party not long after, leaving Lu in a difficult position as she encourages him to head back and enjoy the festivities away from the toilets.

Romance continues to blossom across the party as Guzmán admits to Nadia that he only stood up to her father because he loves her. Nadia smiles, telling him she loves him too but it’s not enough – everything is easy with Malick. Since he is Muslim, he is automatically accepted by her family. She is, however, completely unaware that Malick and Omar just shared a passionate kissing session. Omar later seems shaken up that he, too, now has to keep a secret from someone.

Lu meanwhile, finds herself alone. After being rejected by Nadia earlier, Guzmán jumps over to her but she decides not to come up second best, remaining independent and strong instead. They toast each other across the room and the party continues on without a hitch. Later, Valerio scores a passionate threesome with Polo and Cayetana, during which he reveals that Lu has no money, and that she threw a "BYOB" party to disguise her financial status.

At school the next day, Rebeka learns the school board have agreed to keep her on, but on the basis of her making sure her tuition payments are on time. Without much of a choice, she decides to start dealing the drugs she has stashed away. Polo blackmails Lu into making sure that everyone at the school stops bullying him and Cayetana, or else he will reveal her secret bankruptcy.

In the future, on the night of his death, Polo confronts Lu but she simply throws a drink over his face and tells him he ruined her life. Blind drunk, Lu continues on and bumps into Guzmán, with her champagne bottle smashing on the floor. As Guzmán asks where the rest of broken glass is, the neck of the familiar bottle stands out ominously in the foreground.

After Polo's murder, it’s Lu’s turn to be interviewed and as Nadia stares, encouraging Lu to head in, she is visibly terrified and admits she’s not able to follow through with this. Nadia pleads with her though, going on to mention she has to lie.

In front of the inspector, Lu is nervous and clearly shook up, which she immediately notices. The inspector suspects Lu to be lying and as she presses on, Lu admits to seeing who killed Polo that night.
