Biography[]

Background[]

Prior to moving to Madrid, Patrick lived in London with his family. When he was younger, Mencía ran away from home, and he and his mother drove around looking for her. They got into a car crash. His mother died instantly and Patrick was bedridden for 2 years. He has a strained relationship with his father, while having a close relationship with his two sisters.

Throughout the Series[]

Season 4[]

Patrick is a new student at Las Encinas after he moved with his father, the new principal at the school. Immediately, he takes a liking to Ander and starts to flirt with him. Ander seems interested and eventually the attraction leads Ander to ask his boyfriend, Omar, if he'd be interested in a three way with Patrick. Omar agrees and the three hook up- but it complicates things. Patrick has side hook ups with both Ander and Omar and starts to create drama for the couple. Patrick is very manipulative and doesn't take "no" for an answer, even when he should.

Patrick entices them to come up clubbing and he takes too many drugs one night, passing out.

Elite Short Stories: Patrick[]

Patrick resents the mundane life at his home, calling it a 'prison'. Benjamín calls him out for not prioritizing the wellbeing of Ari and Mencía who are still recovering from Armando's attack. Ari overhears all the conversation and decides to celebrate Christmas to make her brother happy. Patrick is glad that someone remembered it is Christmas time, but he still has no peace of mind.

Patrick decides to take a trip to a cabin at the woods to get away from everything, although it proves to be far from peaceful as his cabin is invaded by some men partying in the neighborhood cabin. They lure him into partying with them and give him lots of drugs and drinks. While under their influence, Patrick time-travels to his childhood, facing the truth regarding Mencía: the fateful day she ran away from home and their mother died, it is revealed that Patrick was supposed to look after her, until Mencía escaped when Patrick lost sight of her for a few seconds. Thus, it explains why Patrick is such a bitter person to everyone.

In addition, he has visions of the future in which Mencía commits suicide in a bathtub by popping a fatal doses of pills, then seeing Mencía's funeral after noticing himself, Benjamín and Ari wearing black. Snapping back to reality, Patrick abruptly leaves the party and rushes back to his house, only to find Mencía in her bedroom safe and sound. A heart-to-heart conversation eventually brings the family together and they start decorating the house.

Season 5[]

A month has passed since Ari's attack, and it's clear that Benjamín and Patrick's father-son bond is back on very shaky ground. Patrick lashes out at his father for imposing stricter rules at school by throwing a hedonistic party at a local nightclub where everyone is high on very heavy drugs they could get their hands on. Benjamín learns about it via Mencía's social media and goes to the party only to be thrown up on by an inebriated Patrick.

While his father tries to hold a tight reign over the school, Patrick starts a friendship with new student, Iván and it's known right away that Patrick has a instant crush on Iván, and Iván knows that as well. But he tries his best to tell Patrick that they are better off as friends than as lovers. After hearing those words, it sends Patrick down into a self-destructive depression. He eventually turns to Iván's father, Cruz, for comfort that turns into a secret romance.

Season 6[]

It's revealed that Patrick and Iván's new relationship is facing problems, as Patrick doubts Iván's love for him. Cruz kisses Patrick at Isadora's brand-new club, House of Isadora, adding to their relationship's difficulties by proving that he still stands in their way. In the middle of the season, Patrick lets his guard down, and decides to become more vulnerable to Iván, but ultimately gets his heart broken as Iván goes off the rails following his father's death. Patrick tries his best to move on, but finds it hard as he always ends up thinking about Iván, who is in the hospital following a hit and run caused by Sara, but pins it all on Mencía. After some convincing from Ari, Patrick decides to testify for Benjamín, who has been in jail for the last 4 months following Samuel's death.

After Benjamín is released, Ari notifies Patrick that the family is moving somewhere else as Madrid has brought nothing but bad news for the family. He has to face the fact that he won't be with Iván anymore and leaves a heartfelt voicemail in his message inbox. He is last seen in the car, driving out of Spain after the house was put up for sale.

Physical Appearance[]

Patrick has dark green eyes and light brown hair. He is fashionable and often wears a light scarf on his neck. He can attract people very easily with his appearance and manipulative influence.

Personality[]

Patrick is hedonistic, whimsical and seductive. If Ari follows exactly what her father dictates, and Mencía goes against it by system, he does what he wants at all times, making the world believe that he is following the rules. He always gets what he wants. And he wants it all, all the time, as he himself proclaims.[3] Patrick is a player, and sleeps with a lot of people, though he has only ever had true feelings for very few. He is extremely manipulative, and enjoys toying with his peers through means of flattery in order to benefit himself. Many consider Patrick irresistible due to his “godly” looks and sultry nature. However, Patrick is shown to get jealous easily, as he has a bad habit of growing obsessed with objects of his desire, and when these sentiments aren't reciprocated, Patrick throws tantrums. In Season 6, his hedonistic side all but disappears, and a softer and more sensitive side is shown as he braces the challenges of his first relationship with Iván holds.

Relationships[]

Ander Muñoz[]

Patrick and Ander first met in the school locker room. Despite knowing that Ander had a boyfriend (Omar), he pursued him. When Omar was required to take an exam to keep his scholarship, Patrick told Ander that he would give him the answers to the test, if Ander went to the club with him. Despite Omar's objection, Ander, who was desperately wanting to help Omar, went to the club and met with Patrick. Ander and Patrick danced, but then Patrick started to touch and kiss Ander. Ander asked him to stop, but Patrick continued. Ander kept telling Patrick to stop, but Ander ignored him and kept going. Patrick told Ander that it's harder to tell him "no" than "yes".

Later, Patrick, Ander, and Omar had a three-way. It created more jealousy and confusion. Ander and Patrick hooked up without Omar, and then Omar and Patrick hooked up without Ander. Patrick kept pursuing Ander, even after Omar and Ander broke up. When Patrick saw Ander casually hook up with another guy in a club, he became jealous and angry, he left in a huff and when his sister Ari tried to check in on him, he pushed her hard, splitting her lip.

Iván Carvalho[]

Patrick and Ivan Season 5

Patrick first met Iván when the latter asked for directions to the changing room. From there, the two formed a budding friendship in which Patrick continuously attempted to seduce Iván to no avail. Though Iván repeatedly denied the fact that he is gay, he continued to send confusing mixed signals towards Patrick and flirted shamelessly with him. Patrick, feeling hurt by Iván playing with his feelings, became increasingly jealous and furious to the point where he hooked up with Iván's father, Cruz, demanding attention from him instead.

When Iván and Patrick skipped school to spend the day at Iván's house, little did they know that Cruz arrived home early that day, and tried to be a responsible father to Iván when he found out he skipped school, but immediately changed his mood when he saw Patrick, and decided to join them for a drink. They had a furious debate on why Patrick is gay, which irritated Patrick because Cruz was doing the same thing to Iván when it came to homosexuality. He and Cruz quickly reconciled, and Cruz reminded Patrick that he is his son's friend, and that what they did the day before was a mistake. However, Patrick tricked Cruz into believing that what they did wasn't wrong. Later, Iván and Patrick were in Iván's room viewing porn, which stimulated them both and almost led to them having sex, but Iván stopped himself believing he was doing something wrong, which irritated Patrick because Iván had been playing with emotions so much that he had had enough. When Patrick was lying in the guest room, he received a text from Cruz asking if he could come upstairs to hook up with him, but when Patrick tried to make his way to the next level, he quickly ran into Iván, who at that point admitted his feelings for Patrick, and they hooked up that night in the guest room.

Iván caught Cruz and Patrick making out in the pool after spending the night with Ari. He later confronted Patrick about this in the locker room and warned him to stay away from his family and his life.

Iván went with Isadora to a party in Ibiza where he got high and dialled Patrick's sister, Ari, who he had initially harbored feelings for and hooked up with, by accident, leaving her a voice message confessing his love for Patrick and how no one had ever made him feel this way before. Ari then played this message for her brother, but Patrick denied Iván's feelings and argued the message was indeed meant for Ari.

In the fifth season finale, after Cruz tried to amend things between the three of them during a meeting he had arranged, Iván again denied his queerness and stormed out of the room in rage. His father went after him and they reconciled before Cruz told him that he needed to go after Patrick. Iván finally realized that he cannot suppress his feelings for the other anymore and went back to look for him, but Patrick was gone. Iván went to Patrick's house where he found Patrick dealing with the aftermath of Benjamín being taken away in handcuffs and Iván immediately went to comfort him, insinuating that they were now together.
