Patrick and Iván, also known as Ivántrick or Patriván, are a couple that becomes romantically involved in Season 5 of Élite.

Their relationship goes through a myriad of ups and downs because of Iván's struggle with his sexuality and Patrick's over-bearing, and often narcissistic attitude. Iván's famous footballer father, Cruz, has instilled the idea that being anything other than straight is looked down upon, despite the fact that he himself is a closeted bisexual, male athlete. Patrick is known to put everything into the person he falls for, only to destroy the relationship himself because of his excessive desire for attention and admiration and feelings of lack of self-importance.

History[]

Season 5[]

Patrick and Iván are quick to hit it off from episode 1, and form a fast friendship where they bond over their love to skip class and their crappy parents. Although Iván seems to be sending flirtatious signals to Patrick, he repeatedly denies the fact that he is gay and rejects all of Patrick's seductive advances. At the same time, Iván is falling for Patrick's sister, Ari, which complicates their friendship, especially after Patrick catches the two of the having sex on a boat before proceeding to hook up with Iván's father to make up for the loss of Iván's affection.

In episode 5 when Patrick sees Iván crying over Ari in the hallways, he offers Iván a shoulder to cry on and the two share a sweet moment on the school yard where they talk about what they look for in a partner and Iván tells Patrick he wishes he could find the same connection he has with Patrick in a lover. The two go back to Iván's house where they spend the day talking and swimming in the pool. Later that night, Iván puts on some porn on his bedroom TV and the two start flirting as they are masturbating to the video. They both lean in for a kiss, but Iván pulls away. Patrick gets mad and goes to the guest room. Patrick considers Iván's dad's offer to sleep with him instead, but Iván confronts Patrick in the hallway and initiates their first kiss. The two end up making love that night and it reaffirms their feelings for one another. At this point, it seems as though Iván has decided to move forward with Patrick since they shared such an intimate and sensual moment together.

However, this all crumbles when Iván catches Patrick and his father making out in the pool after spending the night with Ari. Iván confronts Patrick about this the next day at school in the locker room and demands that Patrick stay away from him and his life. Patrick continues to see Cruz because he is hurt by Iván.

In episode 7, Iván accompanies Isadora to Ibiza where they party. Drunk and high, Iván dials Ari by accident, thinking that it is Patrick, and leaves a voice message declaring his feelings for him. Ari plays the message for her brother the following day at school, but Patrick denies that it was meant for him, still hurt by Iván forcing him out of his life.

In the finale episode, Cruz arranges a meeting with Patrick and Iván without any of the other's knowledge in an attempt to ameliorate the entire situation. But Iván storms off in a fury. Cruz goes after him and they reconcile whilst Cruz reminds him how Patrick makes him feel, which reassures Iván of his feelings and he goes after Patrick. In the final moments of the episode, we see Patrick and Iván embrace, insinuating that they are together now.

Iván: "What you and I have. Connection. We could talk about anything or nothing. Serenity. Intimacy." (Please, Tell the Truth)

Iván: "What if because of my prejudices or fears that I might miss out on something great? With someone great, who makes me feel fucking great?"
Patrick: "Dude, stop. You're going to make me really angry. For the last time, Iván, please stop."
