Rebeka Parrilla de Bormujo Ávalos (March 2, 2002), commonly referred to as Rebe, is a main character through Seasons 2-5 of the Netflix series Elite, serving as one of the two deuteragonists (along with Guzmán) of its first overall story arc and a major protagonist of its second overall story arc. She is portrayed by Claudia Salas.

Biography[]

Background[]

Rebeka is a new student at Las Encinas in the series. She grew up poor, and at some point in her early life, her father died while working as a construction worker, leaving Rebeka and her mother on their own. After her father's death, her mom opened a haberdashery in their neighborhood but was forced to close due to the opening of a shopping mall right next to her business. Desperately, Rebeka's mom had to "look for a business that had little to no competition", and entered the drug world. Her family wealth suddenly skyrocketed and they purchased Guzmán and Marina's old house and moved in. Rebeka's mom also enrolled her into Las Encinas.

Rebeka didn't click with the rich kids, She was much more attracted to people like Nadia and Samuel, who come from a similar background. Rebeka formed close friendships with Nadia and Samuel and even had a crush on Samuel.

Throughout the Series[]

Season 2[]

We get our first glance at Rebeka when she and her mother arrive at their new house, Guzmán's old house. We then see her arriving at Las Encinas, much to the shock of Guzmán and his girlfriend Lu. Samuel approaches her during gym class to tell her to put away her phone before the teacher takes it away. Samuel then introduces her to Nadia.

Throughout the season, Samuel and Rebeka often box together. Rebeka encourages Samuel to find out about the truth of Marina's murder from Carla.

Season 3[]

While waiting for Ander's medical test results, Rebeka reveals to Ander that she is attracted to both genders as she has a crush both on Samuel and Carla. Eventually she admits her feelings to Samu that she had all those months and they kiss. They start dating, even though Samu is secretly in love with Carla. Rebeka's mom continues dealing drugs and eventually gets arrested because Samuel put a listening device in their house (a deal he made with police in exchange for helping his brother).

Rebeka is left with no money but she finds several bags of drugs that her mother left behind. She decides to sell them with Valerio's help to get money to pay for school and food. Eventually, once Carla gets sick from the drugs, Rebeka decides to give up selling drugs and she even asks her mom to do the same when she gets out of jail.

When finding out that Samu was the reason her mom was in jail, Rebeka dumps him. The headmaster at school finds out that Rebeka was one of the people dealing drugs and she kicks her out for the school year. Rebeka goes back to Las Encinas the following year.

Season 4[]

Rebeka meets Mencía, a new student at Las Encinas, who immediately takes a liking to her. However, upon finding out that she's the new strict principal's daughter, Rebe distances herself immediately. However, Mencía eventually convinces Rebe that she's not a fan of her father either. They get drinks and Mencía kisses Rebeka, who seems confused about her own feelings.

Eventually, the two start to date and Rebe seems in love. However, Mencía butts heads with Rebe's mom, who saw her acting as a prostitute with Armando and knows the real truth about Mencía. Eventually, Rebe goes to a hotel where Mencía is with a client and saves her because the client was abusive. Mencía admits the truth. They continue to date.

Season 5[]

Rebeka breaks up with Mencía in the first episode. Then, she goes to the "No Rules" party and meet Jess. They then date. Jess breaks up with her because Rebe hasn't gotten over Mencía. Mencía and Rebeka get back together then break up in the last episode.

Rebeka is an attractive eighteen-year-old with long brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. She loves wearing jewelry such as earrings, necklaces and rings.

Personality[]

Rebeka is an independent and strong woman. She differs from the other wealthy kids in that she grew raised poor but became wealthy in her mid-teens, but she still likes to show her wealth through her jewelry and clothes. She is also incredibly smart, loyal, and has a low tolerance for drama as it's shown she tries her hardest not to associate with the turmoil that her wealthy classmates engage into. However, she always intervenes when one of her friends is involved. She is quite opinionated, and other females think she is rude, while guys think she is hot, despite the fact that she favors women over men.

She is a very athletic person as it's shown she practices boxing, soccer, basketball, and track.

Relationships[]

Rebeka had some issues in establishing relationships with other students at Las Encinas, mainly because she isn't born rich in an upper-class family, but she became rich. Also, she is outspoken and straight-to-the-point, and girls like Lucrecia, whose father is the Mexican ambassador, and Carla, who's even a Marquess, consider her manners raw. Also, Guzmán didn't like her till Season 3 because her mother purchased his house, but later they became friends and she even helped him dispose Armando's dead body along with Samuel.

Carla[]

They both started being jealous of each other because of Samuel. This made Rebeka give her drugs but then she regretted it and apologized to Carla. Also, she admitted being attracted to Carla to Ander in Season 3.

Valerio[]

They started flirting with each other in the first episode of Season 2, and later they tried to hookup with each other. In Season 3, following Sandra's arrest, Rebeka found the cocaine that her mother concealed in Rebeka's punching bag, and they started drug dealing in order to make some money and pay their bills, but cut it shortly after Carla's overdose. It is assumed that Valerio resumed drug dealing on a smaller scale and he is still dealing.

Samuel[]

They became friends with each other but she started having a crush on Samuel, then they became a couple in the third season but they break up which left her devastated and made it hard for her to open herself up for others (e.g. Mencia). But they became friends again in Season 4 after Samuel helped her get together with Mencía.

Nadia[]

Rebeka and Nadia became friends after meeting in 20 hours missing. They became more close in the later episodes and started hanging out together.

Omar[]

Rebeka and Omar appeared to be close friends. In 66 hours missing, Omar referred to Rebeka as his favourite customer at Teatro Barceló.

Ander[]

In Season 3, on the day of college interviews, Rebeka saw Ander leaning against a wall, sobbing. Ander revealed the truth to Rebeka, and she accompanied him to the hospital. When waiting for Ander's results, Rebeka encouraged him to 'stop being so serious all the time', to which he pleasantly loosened up. Ander encouraged Rebeka to tell him a secret, and she confided that she is sometimes attracted to girls, Carla in particular. Ander laughed and told Rebeka that even him and Omar are sometimes turned on by Carla. Rebeka also revealed that she found Samuel attractive. After Ander's diagnosis was confirmed, Rebeka urged him to tell his friends and family about it. They remained friendly throughout the season.

Mencía[]

Rebe and Mencía met on the first day of the new school year. Upon they sit on the same desk, Mencía immediately, and openly, flirted with Rebe, who at first was intrigued, but then lost interest when finding out that she is the new principal's daughter. Still, Mencía managed to get a date that night, in which she kissed her, but Rebe was still unsure whether or not to pursue a new relationship. After Samuel encouraged her to not let the trauma of what he did to her ruin her future relationships, she agreed to date Mencía, who officially became her girlfriend. The two faced some struggles when Mencía began to work as escort, getting in business with shady men, but at the end, Rebe decided that she wouldn't care if Mencía wishes to be helped or not: she would be there for her regardless and, after saving her from a very dangerous situation, the two carried on their relationship.

Trivia[]

  • Rebeka is referred to as "Rebeka Parrilla" in Season 4. However, a promotional video from Netflix stated her name as "Rebeka de Bormujo Ávalos."
    • It is assumed in a logical way, that her full name is "Rebeka Parrilla de Bormujo Ávalos.
  • She always uses a bum bag, cause it's more practical.
  • She loves to party.
  • She told Ander that she had been attracted to Carla, which indicated possible bisexuality. In the fourth season, she started dating Mencía.
  • She wears a customized version of Las Encinas' uniform. She chooses tight, high-waisted cargo pants over skirts (usually worn by Lucrecia, Carla and Cayetana) or straight pants (favoured by Nadia), and usually wears a white polo top instead of a shirt. She loves wearing fishnets.
  • It is implied that Rebeka is a fan of Pokémon.
  • Starting in Season 4, Rebeka started to wear skirts with her school uniform.
  • Rebeka drives a motorcycle with the license plate "602 RBKA".[3]
  • As her last appearence in the show, she is seen walking out of the Blanco family house alongside Omar during the last episode of the fifth season.
  • She is the only original character that didn't got a defined ending.
